Nursing school is hard work, but it’s also advantageous. You get to do what you love—caring for people!—every day.

But getting there can be a challenge. Nursing school is not just about attending nursing classes; you need to make sure you’re mentally and physically prepared for your challenges.

We’ve put together this short course to help you prepare for nursing school. We’ll cover everything from handling your finances to staying healthy and happy so that when the time comes, you’ll know exactly what to do

This course consists of 5 lessons:

  1. Finances

It’s important to know that nursing school will cost you money, both in intuition and in living expenses. For example, you’ll need an apartment, food, and other necessities such as printing assignments during nursing classes—and you probably won’t have much time for a part-time job while you’re studying. That means it’s essential to have a financial plan for how you will cover those costs.

You can check out how much student loans are available through a specific website. Students usually get some loans per year of school, and obviously, the loans don’t cover all of the costs of being a nursing student, but it’s an excellent place to start!

  1. Take a Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

Before you think about a nursing school course, it’s essential to evaluate your skills with the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS). The TEAS is designed to evaluate your ability in the main focus areas for nurses: reading, math, science, and English.

If you have taken the TEAS and scored well in all four areas, it’s time to start thinking about what nursing course you would like to take. There are several types of courses that can help prepare you for a career as a nurse.

  1. Immunization

If you are preparing for one of the courses in nursing programs, you should consider getting all the immunization vaccines required before enrolling in the program. Doing so will help to protect you and others from infectious diseases. It is also a requirement for most healthcare programs.

You can get your immunization shots at a local pharmacy or your healthcare provider.

  1. Working As AN  Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

If you’re thinking about nursing school, you may consider becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

CNAs perform vital services for patients, helping them with everyday tasks like bathing and grooming and providing aid for more critical functions such as monitoring vitals. It is a great way to break into healthcare and get experience in the industry—and it’s an excellent way to see if this kind of work is right for you.

  1. The NCLEX Exam

When you’re preparing for a course to take in nursing school, there are a lot of misconceptions. It’s an easy task, and it’s something you can do after graduation.

You don’t have to worry about the NCLEX exam.

The NCLEX is a computer-based test administered to new nurses at the end of their nursing education. Those who pass receive their license and are called registered nurses (RNs).
